A man is an adolescent human, sometime called a male human, which is capable of carrying a conversation. A man may have the capacity for reasoning, given enough time and experience. The word "man" can be used in three languages - Old English, Middle English and Modern English. The word "man" can also refer to one of those species mentioned above. In all three languages, "man" is used in the singular form, though "man" can also refer to a species of mammal.
Man refers generally to a human being. It appears that the use of "man" has spread to include animals as well. In modern parlance, however, the word "man" generally refers to a person in possession of some sort of social, cultural or intellectual authority. The most common traits of the characteristics defining a "man" are his physical strength, courage, honesty, dependability, kindness, social outlook and ability to produce.
Man may also be considered a being who possesses some sort of supernormal powers. In the language of Charles Darwin, "Man" may also be used as a description of the pinnacle of animal life. Man may sometimes be thought of as a kind of creature or robot. In popular usage, though, the word "man" refers to the human species.
