The Hippo-Crocodile Nonaggression Pact was signed shortly after the two species had ended a bitter war that lasted from 1955-1973. Under the new treaty the Hippo Coalition had to scale down its nuclear arsenal and in exchange the Crocodile Kingdom had to cede access to the waterhole to the Hippos. Tensions remain moderately high between the two nations, however there may still be a lasting peace. The newly elected Hippo president Hippocrates Hippotis has recently stated that all Crocodiles should be treated as friends to the Hippos. Furthermore Hippocrates has stated that the two species should open up further economic and geopolitical strategies to further deal with their longstanding domestic and international deputes. The leader of the Crocodiles, King Crocodilious III has stated his approval of these measures. Furthermore King Crocodilious III has even recently commissioned a commemorative coin to be struck at the Crocodile Mint to commemorate the union of Crocodile and Hippo relations.
